Travel insurance coverage
If you get sick abroad, have something stolen, or cause damage to someone’s property, help will just be a phone call away. EF staff members are familiar with this coverage. We know who to call, what forms are needed and how to support you. Insurance is important and that’s why we automatically include it for all our students. At the end of the day, it’s all about peace of mind. This group insurance is part of the total cost of going as an exchange student. Should you wish to renounce this coverage you need to get another insurance approved and there is a process for that.

Erika Sport
Most activities and sports organized by your high school will be covered, but certain “risky” activities that you may be involved in outside of school are not. This is where the Erika Sport comes in. Your host family might have a four-wheeler you want to drive. Perhaps they will take you skiing. From white water rafting, to jet skiing, to bungee jumping and more, the Erika Sport will make sure you’re covered for every activity, anywhere.

Safety and comfort
At EF High School Exchange Year, safety is our main priority. Safety for you, for your parents and for your host family. We have worked with Erika Insurance Ltd. and its partners for over 25 years, which means that they know our program and we know who to contact and what to do should something happen.
Less administration
All students going on an exchange year need to have adequate insurance coverage. The insurance coverage we have provided for you fulfills these requirements. Should you wish to renounce it, a different insurance would have to be reviewed and approved, and there’s a specific process for that.
Unlimited coverage for medical expenses
Though there are certain exclusions and limitations in the policy, it offers unparalleled coverage. This includes necessary and acute costs for doctor’s visits, hospitalization, prescribed medication and emergency home evacuation.
Program interruption coverage
If you need to return home due to a very serious medical issue or a critical family emergency, you may be covered for a return flight home. Should your program be interrupted completely, the unused part of the EF program fee will be refunded.
Comprehensive package
All in one package. Apart from the medical coverage you are also covered in case of theft, for travel delays, program interruption, third party liability and legal expenses.
